Why is everyone so obsessed with Japan?

Yes I too like manga and anime, but I leave it at that. I don't change my name to Japanese characters on Facebook nor do I try to act like one, but a lot of other manga readers seem to to that kind of stuff. It's really cringey and I keep on wondering what real Japanese people are thinking about this, I figure they'd be laughing their asses of seeing sh*t like that. You can't BECOME Japanese. It's impossible, even if you take a 2 year language course. Why does this happen so much nowadays?

not really. like in the last 8 years(i'd say, not completely accurate) anime has gotten a boom.

I want to visit Japan for several of reasons U_U They're manga/anime/Pokemon related for the most part and sight seeing as well.

I want to visit the Tokyo One Piece tower. I made a thread a while back showing how epic it is:

Not to mention, the One Piece figures in Japan are really cheap as well. Meeting Oda, Togashi, Mashima and Shima would be nice, even if the odds of that happening are zero. XD

Btw, I don't think anyone here actually thinks they're Japanese by watching anime or reading manga. Not everyone here is a weeaboo.

I don't really change my name on FB because I used the slots that they give you when you make an account couple of years ago but I use it on steam and people seems fine with it and I'm fine with it and I like it the way it is. Does it even matter? Does it hurt you?

Nothing. It doesn't matter to them. People like anime in US? better for them.

Why would they? If people do that, anime will be more popular = will turn into more profit if people buy anime/manga/ln/vn/pillows and more.

Does it matter? Let people do whatever they want with their lives. They want to use porn as avatar (if fb) allows it then it's good. Don't like those kind of people? then too bad. It's staying and it will grow more eventually.

It does not make any sense that you are in a forum where people use anime avatars freely and you don't judge them but you do if it's on FB. What?
