i am 18 years old, with lots and lots of time in my hand. I bassically spend 7hours sleeping (not my strongpoint) 5hours on net, and all the remaining of my time goes to reading (mostly novels, then anything in can get my hands on).
recently i've come to find that i despise novels written by females, reason is because i find their building up of characters and story's quite repetitive.
best believe, if a female is to create feminine character, then dang she has to be in her late twenties to early thirties, has to be extremely sexy and not lacking in any department (physically), and hell with a feminist touch to her personality.
stumble into a male character written by a female writter, and god! has to be a hunk, womanizer, a tad heartless (flamboyant more like), and thus the most repetitive shit: Rich.
i personally experimented this, reading 3 books. two of which are of thesame writter, Miranda Lee (Blackmailed into the Italians bed, and The billionaire's bride of vengeance). I know some might think "why read two books from same writter and not expect the two's context to be thesame", well i had to do justice, i had to see to what extent a writter can develop something similar yet different, i was disappointed. Then i read Marry Balogh's web of love, i almost burnt the book halfway through it.
and no i'm not misogynistic.
so, i've decided to not ever read any book authored by a female, i'm open to suggestions if there's any female writter you think is an exception from what i've ranted about.
(thats just my opinion thou, whats yours?)

Maybe it's the type of novel's you're reading... try Virginia Woolf - especially To The Lighthouse. It's a pretty amazing book.

I'm not trying to knock Miranda Lee or Mary Bolagh, but they're not exactly the gold standard of female-written literature, are they?

The Outsiders proves that females can write great males. You read three books that sound shitty enough and then say two of which are by the same writer, yet you gave a poor reason as an excuse to justify it. No shit if someone writes shitty characters in one book, you can expect it in another.

critical success. She has received numerous

Achievement Award for Regency Short Stories

Author of the hunger games. Suzan Collins or something like that?

Female protagonist, 17, considered "moderately unattractive" because of small chest and fierce, unforgiving appearance. And the male protagonist actually clashes with a supporting character who is a drunk.

Just one example, but it's something.

Oh well sounds about right then.

"Strong independent woman in the prime of her life looking for true love, but gets abused by snobby egotistical rich boy" cliche.

Mostly female lawyers?

uh, and females?
i was experimenting, to what? this cause.
the characters being shitty never was a strong point in my argument, being "repetitive" is, learn to read the lines genius

My opinion on female writers is that, in my opinion, they are females, and also writers.

I am a female writer. I also have stumbled upon many of those kind of stories. They are stolen from Taiwanese dramas most of them. It doesn't mean anything if your'e a male or female writer. It depends on your creativity not how you stole it story and changed words here and there. People write there stories to catch the interest of audience too and they do it pretty well. Tbh, I read a story and it was the same as you described above I discontinued reading it. Try searching for something different maybe you will find it.

Yeah, there are shit female writers when it comes to character building. There are also shit male writers when it comes to character building. There is a lot of shit writing in general, but there is also a lot of good. Don't put people into a box based on a few people. Search enough and you'll find what suits you.
