Correct. Only if Konoha was losing so badly that he had to. But if Konoha was losing that badly then Obito by himself could easily sweep the rest without whoever else he saves.

The fact that Gai would never open the 8th gate at the start of the fight pretty much decides it for Akatsuki anyway.

Guy 8th gate can move faster than they can react. Juubidara reacted to the once fastest shinbone alive, but not to guy.

He was barely in any fights and he beat Kisame because he thought a taijutsu move was a ninjutsu move. It was a bad match-up.

Kamui gets him, Pain has many moves to beat him like CT, Deidara's particle sized bombs, Itachi's genjutsu, etc.

GUY will destroy akatsuki with evening elephant alone, madara can fight with all the tailed beasts simultaneously ,a much stronger madara was destroyed by guy, what are the akatsuki gonna do? kakazu, hidan, deidara, konan ,kisame, itachi ,sasori ,pain will al get one shotted

I would assume Gai would die to defend Konoha so him going into 8 Gates would increase their chances of beating them back alongside everyone elses abilities, I think Konoha have a decent chance

It was stated that Itachi and Kisami would both die when trying to kill Jiraya.

Also everyone besides Itachi,Tobi and Pain would easily get solod by 8th Gates Gai. Sage Mode Jiraya, Tsunades healing, Danzos sealing and Ka, Hiruzen death reaper and Kakashi would been enough to take out Itachi and Pain and afterwards they would find a strategy to kill or seal Tobi...

Well Tobi wasn't really apart of Akatsuki until after Sasori died, he was behind the curtains at that point. Konoha is the strongest village and when Pein attacked, they didn't have team Gai, Hiruzen, Jiraiya, Yamato, Danzo or Danzo's anbu who all seems to have special abilities. Itachi stated that even if there were more of them (besides just him and Kisame) then they would all die (including Jiraiya); Jiraiya showed that he's capable of fighting multiple strong opponents and kill 4 of them before dying and that's fighting alone. Old man Hiruzen was stated to be the strongest of the 5 Kages in part 1 so he's going to be capable of taking out at least 1 or 2 if not more with help. Tsunade will use her slugs to heal everyone who's fighting.

Shikaku, Hiruzen, and/or Jiraiya would be aiding in the planning and with Inoichi and/or the slugs, they can inform every ninja of the strategies. Danzo has KA, multiple usage of Izanagi, sealing jutsu that takes away your movement, and a sealing jutsu that takes you out with him if he dies. Hiruzen has usage of all 5 elements, can use sealing jutsus, knows all jutsus in Konoha, has Enma to extend his reach, has one of the best analyzing skills in NV (is called the professor because he can tell what jutsu you're going to use by looking at the hand seal), he can sniff out his enemy even without sight or hearing, he can handle genjutsus, and he has lots of experiences in combat. Kakashi has less stamina in part 1 but he's still strategy wise helpful and can still work as backup or with a team that has a great strategy.

Haishi is a strong Jounin with the Byakugan so I do see him being able to fight a member with backup; like Asuma, Kurenai, and Shizune/Yamato. Inoichi can take control of other's bodies or restrain them for Choza to smash; InoShikaCho with 1 more teammate can take out Hidan and a few Peins (if they're separated). Then just add the rest of the clans in Konoha+Hiruzen's Anbu+Danzo's Anbu. The majority of Akatsuki would be killed off with at least Pein still fighting but if Jiraiya was able to take out 4 bodies alone then he can take out all with backup; Jiraiya alone figured out the most inportant fact about Pein so he would do it again since he knew all the bodies Pein is using.

Honestly I can't call this one. I think they stand a good chance, of course unless it's hypothetical you have to take Itachi out of this. Akatsuki have stuff like 6 pain paths, animal summons, gigantic water domes & clay dragons not to mention a puppet army. They're so well suited to seiging giant cities that it disappoints me that we never got to see them do that outside Naruto SD, because....they totally could. Still- as much of a nice image as that is, until someone sways me big-time, I see Konoha pulling a heavy loss victory.​
