The Association of Japanese Animations (AJA) released details from its "Anime Industry Report 2015," which examines industry trends from 2014, on Tuesday.

According to the report, the total market value of the anime industry in 2014 was 1.63 trillion yen (about US$13.5 billion), up about 10% from 2013's 1.49 trillion yen (about US$12.4 billion).

The AJA attributes part of this success to merchandise and the sale of streaming rights in China. Last year, the report noted an increase the number of anime exhibits and events, such as anime song concerts and musicals.

The Animation Market Analysis Project of Japan's Media Development Research Institute (MDRI) released a report on Japan's domestic animation market earlier this year. The report estimated a record high for the sale of domestic and foreign animation within Japan in 2013.

AJA's full report will go on sale in Japan on September 18. The AJA has been publishing annual reports since 2009, when the anime industry was in decline.

This is great news! So much for the "anime is dying" claims.

When they said dying, they don't mean in sales... but in quality... at least for me that's how i feel, looking back after 2011, there's barely any good anime.

Cool but I still don't like anime as a whole anymore.i can barely get into any nowadays. None I have seen can make the impact the older animes did. They just seem too cliché and unoriginal and the bad animation and anime cliches is just the icing on the shit cake.

What our opinions on the matter of quality of anime lately really don't matter, because whats really important is what panders to the Japanese fans since that's who the anime industry is making most of their money on.

In my understanding, when people say the anime is dying, it means that it's dying on them. People can't be stupid enough to state that anime, as a whole, is dying.

There are many cliche animes out there but you just have to keep digging and you'll find a worthy anime for ya.

674 animes so far and I still like them.

Keep digging means looking stuff from the past ? yes ?

Past, present and future.

There will be animes that are going to be bad. Some of them will catch your interest and you might like them. If you don't like the new stuff then you can move to the older animes or quit anime as a whole.

And what happens if you already watch all the good old anime's ?
Quit Anime as a whole ? yeah...no i'll keep waiting for the good ones, though their number keep decreasing every now and then

That's the word you're looking for "Waiting" not digging. Looking for older anime means that the new ones is shit, and you have to go through MAL database to look for one,and by the way your MAL list is full of OVA/MUSIC/ and special episode that only have like 1 episode from the same franchise, take that away and you only have like around 250 anime out of 674,

My incomplete list actually have more than that but that's irrelevant in this discussion.
