Momoshiki
“You lower life forms don’t understand.”
A descendant of the Ootsutsuki clan who tries to accomplish “medicine*” training!!
*(Translator’s note: The word “tan” (丹), which I translated as “medicine” is used in the movie to refer to the red, fruit-like objects that Momoshiki eats to gain the power of the jutsu he absorbs. The word itself can be defined as “medicine; especially immortality/eternal youth medicine” (source). I was having trouble finding an English word to fully encompass the meaning. It’s also interesting to note that the kanji used to write it can also mean “red.” )
Like Kinshiki, he is of Ootsutsuki lineage. After the death of Kaguya, he planned to refine sage medicine in order to attain eternal youth and supernatural phenomena. For the purpose of forming the chakra of the bijuu that are scattered around the world into a single fruit, he starts out by targeting Killer Bee’s Hachibi, and Naruto’s Kyuubi.
Caption: When traveling, he appears in Japanese-style with tall clogs, and dons a feathered robe. He has “byakugan” in both eyes, and the “rinnegan” in the centers of each of his palms glow ominously.
