Obito is the coolest guy ever as Naruto once sad.

Obito killed his parents, caused the death of Naruto's friends parents Iruka, caused the Uchiha to be in further suspicion because of the Sharingans Ocular powers, caused the death of many others as well as, killing more of his friends and their parents including manipulating his best friend and so on and so forth.

Many of the fans do not like this phrase after all, Obito killed his parents. But what you forget is that it would go against what Naruto has learned, to achieve and that is to remove hatred from ones self and it would sacrifice his mission to obtain peace especially, he learnt pain from Jiraiya's death and the fall of Konoha.

Though you could argue, he didn't have to go that extent to highly praise Obito but you forget since he has removed hatred from himself, he was also connected to Obito as well as, on a deep level such as emotionally more than anyone else because he is the most similar to him therefore, he understands him the most. What Obito went through, his feelings, thoughts. He understands him because he was once connected to him.

He admires him because he is like himself with the addition of understanding and Naruto did admit if I remember that he would have really looked up to him if he didn't go bad.

Point is, there is depth to this.
Edit: And I think that because Naruto understands Obito to a great degree and knows he is Human; a wrongly misguided soul that he just wanted to defend him.

That's not even what Naruto said. It was more along the lines of "That's a guy worth admiring" in the Viz scan in reference to his change IIRC

Thing is Obito didn't kill his parents Kurama did. Obito only unleashed/Freed Kurama he wasn't controlling the kyuubi when Kurama killed them.

Kurama killed them plus Minato already killed himself anyways with RDS so really Kurama only killed his mother.

Though Obito was the cause.

Sure but he didn't kill his parents and that's 100%manga factz

I guess you can say he killed Kushina like I said by extracting kurama but not Minato

Not really. When you look that he realized he was "wrong" and changed to help save the world and right his wrong, he does appear awesome or whatever.

Naruto had sort of a reason to call him the coolest guy. Think about both of their background they had the same childhood and yes Obito killed his parents but he sort of understood what Obito was going through. Naruto is the type of guy to never lash out at people until he understands something clearly. Naruto follows Jiraiya's motto and that is to stop the hatred in this world, if Naruto killed him he wouldn't feel satisfied and inside him regret will start forming. Yes there is depth behind Naruto's statement.

OP this pretty much summarizes my response from what I read from your post.

The problem here is that Naruto should have never praised Obito the way that he did. Tbh I really do get why Naruto said what he did. Naruto was flooded with all of Obito's memories during the tug of war and he knows Obito just as well as Obito knew himself when he said that. Obito was the type of person that Naruto would definitely look up to, but all of that sentiment doesn't cancel out the fact of all that Obito did. And in Naruto calling Obito the coolest that is exactly what Naruto was doing. He was only acknowledging the good Obito.

Obito is indeed the coolest guy. Without him Naruto would have never inspired his looks.

God. He gave Obito a compliment. That's all that is. The entire Naruto manga symbolizes forgiveness and release from hatred, regardless of past actions. Ofcorse Naruto, the main character, is going to defend and praise a top villain who turned himself around and died for the shinobi world.

The people that are so stuck on everything Obito did beforehand and make such a big deal out of Naruto's comment are the very type of people this manga doesn't represent and is aiming to address. Arguing against Naruto's comment is like arguing against the entire concept of the manga. And if you don't agree with the concept of the manga why did you read in the first place?

For Sasuke and the villains XD

I sure as hell know it wasn't for Naruto or the moral lessons
