So what was Danzos plan when Pain attacked Konoha?

Pain taking naruto wouldn't have effected him in any, so he wanted tsunade to die so that he could take the seat.

No he didn't. Pain was about to leave the second he had Naruto's location.

Danzo realized that Pain would never kill 100% of the village, but the chances of him killing Tsunade were very high. So after she was dead, and Pain was gone, he would come out and become Hokage, continuing to control Naruto with his Sharingan and Mokuton, as Tobi suggested.

Almost took your posts seriously for a second.

Anyway, Pain was godlike compared to anything anyone in Konoha had ever seen. The people who are hating on Danzō, hate him for avoiding getting killed by Pain? lol okay.
He wanted Pain to kill Tsunade so he could take over without having resort to her assassination. Secondly, he wanted Pain to end his search for Naruto in Konoha. The quickest way to do that is letting Pain realizes Naruto isn't in Konoha at all.
