Another misconception is that some people believe he becomes like a hologram while Kamui's phasing is active. They think that although Obito is visible in the real world, his body is already in his dimension when that's not the case.


Simply put: The parts of his body that overlap with something else are what's sent to the other dimension. If his head is still visible then it's still in the real world. Only attacks that don't overlap with his body would affect him (Gravity, Air, etc.) Otherwise his entire body would've been sent to his dimension immediately after turning that mode on since he'd immediately be exposed to gravity and air but since those things don't overlap with his body, that didn't happen.

Kind of like how I argued in favor of Kakashi unlocking MS and loosing some sight as early as his 2nd fight with Itachi. Surely Tobidara's useage of Kamui would be subjec to the same limitations as Obito. So that has no reason to be mentioned in this thread.

Kamui is obito's dojutsu...however tobidara uses kamui better then obito...tobidara or better said UCHIHA MADARA IN HIS FORM TOBI could controll kurama with just one ordinary sharingan wich is a rarity...

Aside from the question of Tobidara's very existance, can you prove that Tobi with the mask could pick and choose what parts he sends? You have Fuu and Torune against that idea, since he slips through Torune when Fuu tries to attack him.

Because there was another fist there. Obito can't send parts of his body to Kamui, then send them back to the real world if they get attacked on both sides. Avoid one fist by getting punched by a stronger fist? No thanks.

Naruto's BM Fist was allready overlapping with Obito's stomach.

Or maybe i'm just misinterpreting you. Obito's phasing is him sending overlapping parts of his body to the Kamui dimension, to avoid attacks. The overlapping parts are teleported instantly, and he cannot pick and choose what parts are sent. When Naruto punched him, his stomach overlapps with Naruto's chakra fist, so his stomach is sent to the Kamui dimension. There, Kakashi can punch him. It can't be sent back to the real world because it would overlap with Naruto's fist.
