He was in the Adamantine Staff form. Hiruzen used him in order to free Naruto without touching the Shinju tree and having his chakra absorbed. He didn't have any speaking roles. But the staff itself is Enma

Sure as cool as that would have been to see. It really wasn't necessary. That moment wasn't about Hiruzen or his time to shine. If anything Enma should have been present when they were fighting the Spiral Zetsu and the Buddha Statue. He could have done that cage form and shielded the Shinboi alliance from those hands.

But again, it really wasn't called for as other, more important things were going on that demanded attention.
