Being able to use two elements doesn't automatically entail the ability to combine them into a new element. Hashirama can do it because he was just born with it, just like everyone else with the ability to mix certain chakra natures.

Well everyone's chakra is unique. Asura's decendants have potential for powerful chakra--Hashirama just used that potential for mixing earth/water into wood. It's a high level jutsu used with high level chakra.

Same reason Sasuke is the only one that can use Enton. It's Ashura's KKG and requires Ashura's Yang chakra. Naruto doesn't have it because he's an Uzumaki, Mokuton is a Senju KKG similar to chakra chains being an Uzumaki KKG.

He doesn't have the gene for Mokuton though and he doesn't actually possess Dōton and Suiton; it's just part of the makeup of the Gudoudamas and used through the different abilities of the Bijuu chakra that he used (Futton = Water + Fire, Yōton = Fire + Earth).

He himself never had an affinity for either though, and can't use them.

Yeah. Mei has kekkei genkai to use lava. But apparently, that is not something all ninja can do. Only a few. Isn't it the same with Darui's laser circus-combining 2 elements? So, some ninja can do it. Others can't.

He did, Indra and Ashura were both influenced by the Juubi's power because their father was its Jinchuuriki, in addition Ashura inherited the body of a JuubiJin so would logically have it's KKG at the very least.

In addition, Senju and Uzumaki both descend from Ashura therefore should have his abilities equally divided amongst them. He can use chakra cloaks like an Uzumaki so should therefore be capable of using Mokuton like a Senju. One clan inherited Gedo traits, the other clan inherited Juubi traits.

Furthermore, think of Kishi's emphasis on "equality". Indra has Fire and Lightning affinity, eventually wielded Enton. Ashura had Earth and Water affinity, which is direct opposite of Indra's affinity, and eventually wielded Mokuton, the only element capable of nullifying Amaterasu.

Also, Ashura didn't have Kurama for regeneration feats but healing is supposed to be his power, only other tool capable of granting regeneration is Mokuton, as proven by JuubiJins.

He can use it now that he has Hashirama's cells, and by the start of the War Arc his Yang chakra was capable of stimulating tree growth, so yes he can use Mokuton.

Although you're right the chakra natures are provided by the bijuu, Naruto should be able to use the 6 elements without the Goududamas like Madara because he's "one with the bijuu" like a Juubi Jinchuuriki. His body is no different to a JuubiJin's.
