Why didn't Orochimaru take Shin's Body?

Orochimaru want's a strong body. According to Gaiden, Shin's body was able to accept pretty much any transplant, hence all the sharingan. With Shin Clones, there's no reason Orochimaru couldn't have taken that body, implanted some Sharingan, then cloned a new body every three years.

Orochimaru wasn't actually after a strong UCHIHA, just a good body, preferably one that comes with Sharingan. Shin's body could handle about 50 sharingan at once, so he's definately a viable host. Anyway, he would only have Sasuke's body for three years before having to get a new one, the shin clones would solve that problem.

And Orochimaru can change his appearence, so Shin's ugliness is a non factor. Besides, Mini Shins aren't that bad.

I have to admit that the normal/healthy Shin-Juniors aren't looking bad. They would've been a nice vessel indeed.

Plot obviously. Knowing he had Shin back during his cooperation with Danzo, there was no reason for him to take over Gen'yuumaru or any other fodder host.

I think it's because Shin betrayed him and escaped before Oro could switch bodies with him. Also, Danzo wouldn't really have approved of Oro taking over Shin's body. Oro manipulated both Naruto and Sasuke to get rid of Shin and reclaim the cloned Shins which strangely fall under the guidance of Kabuto (Who still has Oro's snake marks).

Actually, Shin does have muscles like that. all the fanart is recolouring it and then photoshopping in Orochimaru
