If you think hard about it, by casting Infinite Tsukuyomi upon the world he purposely just gave us the upcoming fillers in the process, being the first villain in the history of anime to technically do so. That in turn makes Madara truly an evil villain, representing(just this one time) what Studio Pierrot loves to do with their fans, forcing us to go through dream episodes that never happened in the first place.

Ever since Madara appeared we had many filler arcs (Kakashi ANBU arc, Chunin exam arc, 2 double episode fillers, a lot of filler flashbacks).

He's more of an villain than Kishi portrayed.
