Naruto's hokage ceremony was soooooo lame

I know I'm late to this but I just read the manga special on Naruto's Hokage ceremony and even after all the s**t that Kishi has pulled I can't believe he had the nerve to do this. We've been waiting years to see Naruto's efforts pay off and watch his most importrant dream true, and right when all that satisfaction and emotion is about to take place we instead see that he didn't even show up? Wtf?! I feel so robbed right now. It was the most anticipated moment in all of the series and it was just taken away from us. :|

Did anyone else feel the same way?

But,in hindsight i am glad we didn't get 18 pages of nothing but formal speeches recounting all his actions that lead to him to taking the position.

I completely agree that anything formal wouldn't mesh well with Naruto, but I feel like there could have been many other ways for him to be goofy without him missing the ceremony.

Him being late kept in character with how naruto acts.

He is still not mature in some ways.And him over sleeping is exactly something his ass would do.
Who else but naruto would sleep through the day he was working towards all his life.

Then shikamaru using the clone justu to mimic him.


It was just as shikmaru said.He would have to be by his side because he can't do anything without him.
It was light and funny.

Do you think it was "ruined" because there wasn't nothing but super serious speeches being delivered ?

Why would there be ? The ninja villages came together at that point and the village loves naruto.

Why would the event be a somber or super stiff ?

I understand to a degree you're disappointment.

18 pages devoted to narutos very goal and he isn't present at the actual ceremony.

But in all honesty they could of went down this road or they could of done what would of basically been a recap.

I rather have seen a tid bit into hid family life then see a bunch of one lines delivered by a rotating cast of people saying congrats naryuto your finally hokage !!!

Well imo Kishimoto has been trying to portray naruto as an adult an show more of an adult attitude and not with all the silly and dumb antics that he did when he was younger and yea the himawari stuff was a little funny, but when people pictured naruto Hokage ceremony, they wanted some deep speech and some real feels and a wayyy longer chapter, not some 17 paged comic relief, it was suppose to be a serious moment and a turning point for Naruto's life as whole, him finally achieving his dream, probably people even expected heavy flashbacks of the past (Which people don't even normaly like), but that's just my imo, i think people wanted something really deep.

I get it.
I can see the ceremony as a possible chance to see naruto take order (act in a manner that a kage would )it could of worked as a nice framing device for a deep and real moment of adult hood and leadership for him.

I see it now.The chapter was more of a fleeting overview than an in depth look of his actual new position.
I guess it could of been done with a little more thought.

Maybe the ceremony itself can be redeemed with more possible tales about his position ?

I don't know what's sadder, the fact that Naruto got taken out by his own kid or the fact that Kishi made one of Naruto's most hyped and anticipated moments that we all waited to see into a joke.

Its as if Kishi simply doesn't give a crap about anything revolving Naruto.
