I have manga canon on my side that shows Naruto has twice as much as raw power at VOTE 2. Did Kurama get weaker too? Did he lose most of his raw power? Didn't think so. Even if I were to entertain the silly idea that Naruto got weaker in overall ability, the fight will always come down to their megazords and one is far stronger than the other.

Naruto's weakness (rusty) was never explained and it made no sense. In fact, it went against what the manga showed us throughout the gaiden. The manga stated Naruto's battle skills has grown dull (rusty) in gaiden chapter 6, yet prior and later chapters showed growth.

When Naruto faced child Shin he dealt with him without any problems, he perfectly countered Shin's "surprise" attack from his blind side. When he faced adult Shin he dealt with him without any problems, he easily countered both of his attacks. Adult Shin couldn't even sneak up on him. At the end of the gaiden Naruto was shown defeating the Shins in base mode. Throughout the gaiden Naruto displayed growth in battle skills, base speed, base sense ability, base healing ability, and chakra control (better partial chakra mode). He even created a genjutsu or genjutsu like technique (the one he used against child shin).

Yet, when Sasuke fought adult Shin all of a sudden we are told Naruto has gotten rusty even though he didn't fight in that chapter. Naruto was injured because of Sasuke. If Naruto was really rusty then we should have observed that throughout the entire gaiden.

Sasuke's weakness wasn't his lack of chakra. Yes, his chakra was lower than normal and couldn't use all of his jutsu, but those jutsu where limited to Susanoo, amaterasu, and maybe other MS jutsu. He could still use his rinnegan. Besides, adult Shin wasn't at a level that those jutsu would be required to defeat him. Sakura defeated him with one punch.

Sasuke's weakness was the fact he was rusty. The manga showed us he was rusty.

Sasuke failed the notice the seal on his hand even though he was looking right at it -
