Neither of their abilities rely on the Gedo because unlike Hagoromo, Indra and Ashura had their chakra influenced by the Juubi because they were conceived by its Jinchuuriki. As a result they ended up naturally wielding a similar amount of Juubi power an empty Gedo would've provided.

Naruto's body and Sasuke's Susanoo are both designed to substitute the Gedo's properties. The Mangekyo is a reflection of the Juubi's power like the Gedo Mazo, the Mangekyo combined with Rinnegan would provide the same Rikudou feats as Gedo combined with Rinnegan, if not superior.

If you read the manga you would have noticed that Susanoo amplifies dojutsu, which is what the Gedo is designed for. And regardless of whether he received Yin or Yang chakra, Sasuke's Rikudou chakra is also composed of Ashura's.

Madara wouldn't because he has the Gedo and the Juubi's power. And Sasuke would survive because he's proven that his eye has the same amount of power as a JuubiJin, otherwise he wouldn't be capable of jumping dimensions.
