In DBZ. more precisely in majin boo arc, seems like they forgot about something very important about sayans, when a sayang is at the brink of death and they recover their powers increase exponentially, that's what usually happened to goku, gohan and vegeta before the majin buu arc, but they forgot about it, cause when son gohan was sent flying by the energy ball of buu , he almost died and after he recovered nothing pointed out to the fact he was any stronger than before.

Also the energy of gohan ss2 was enough to fill more than half the energy of majin buu cocoon, so if gohan recovered from what would have been a mortal wound then he should have been able to stand on equal ground or even above majin buu without having to go through the training with the Z sword, that just proves that Majin buu arc was just dragged out for no other reason than milking, no hate, just wanted to pointed out.

when sayans recover from wounds they usally duplate their own power, he should have been at least a little more powerful
It was milked a lot, goku stated he could have won to buu the first time he transformed into ss3, gotenks could have won had he not been so stupid and wasted time, gohan could have won if goten and trunks hadnt fell on the provocations of buu, gohan could have won when gotenks lost its transformation inside buu, goku and vegeta could have easily won if they hadnt tried to save gohan and co, anyway they were gonna revived all of the eartlings eventually, goku could have won to kid buu had he gone all out the first time instead o givin vegeta a chance, milking everywhere man.
