Ah the salt. The simple fact is, there were no statements. The idea that it can't be awakened probably came from the fact that the hyuga's all were born with pale eyes. However, there was no statement that it couldn't be awakened. It all comes down to an implication, not a rule. Kishi didn't break a rule, though this will obviously shake up those that were convinced that you needed pale eyes for the byakugan.

Nothing in the manga implies that one should be born with byakugan in order to have it.

Review the neji arc in Naruto the first series....it's stated that the byakugan is a delicate power that needs maintaining.......the branch families job was to make sure the byakugan never goes extinct.....that's the main reason the caged bird jutsu was created so the main family could constinly control the branch from going roge

If there were such things as half breeds then there would be no reason to have a branch family to protect the head......because the byakugan would become just like the SHARINGAN.....

Seeing Otsutsuki out there with Byakugan, how that eyes can go extinct even without protection? The only thing extinct here is races/species.

The Byakugan's nature regarding activation or existence was never the established. It's impossible to betray a standard that never existed. The only thing known about the byakugan is that it existed within the Hyuga (and Ootsutsuki), all the ones we saw were grey even before activation, and there's a risk of loss. The eyes of half-breeds is uncharted territory, so Kishi had the freedom to do whatever he wanted with it. What responses like these boil down to is "I'm mad because my view on what the byakugan is wasn't what Kishi ended up writing."

It was never stated that kaguya was born with it.
It was never stated that hyuuga are born with it.
U used the word "probably" so you're obviously not sure about the new villains.
We've got little to nothing on byakugan so that isn't saying much.
