Should Jiraiya have escaped when he was in his barrier before he died? He would have stomped Pain with Naruto when they attacked...

No he was better of dead IMO. His death was very dramatic and it had a positive effect on Naruto.

No he's one of the characters that died at the right time in the right circumstance, which made him not turn into some annoying person you wish you didn't have to see anymore.

Yeah he should have escaped. He thought the fight was done after that genjutsu so he decided to walk out of there with a hefty price to pay, the loss of his arm. Definitely Naruto and Jiraiya would stomp Pain together but it was plot to make dem feels happen.

I wished he would have lived to see Naruto become stronger/Hokage.....

but his death had a lot of meaning and imo was the best death.

While his death was tragic I don't think he should have live. In death he did more for naruto then he could in life imo.

No. His death wasn't practical.

Its not much saying Jiraiya's death helped Naruto, in the Pain fight or emotionally.

Narutos emotions and intentions have been near on point his whole life.
Jiraiya dying for the secret "the real ones not among them" was irrelevant to beating Tendo.

Maybe Naruto used the clue to realize that Pain has a real body?

It's all for plot.....he already had enough info on there skills.....him knowing who they were was unimportant...

HAD HE LIVED: Easily defeated pain with sage mode Naruto......FINALLY TSUNADE WOULD OF GAVE HIM A CHANCE......LEARN THAT THE REAL PAIN IS OUTSIDE THE VILLAGE AND GO CONFRONT HIM...

BUT SINSE KISHIMOTO NEEDS PLOT JIRIYA HAD TO DIE FOR THE STORY TO BE MORE SHOCKING/ INTERTAINING
