It because her power got sealed also and her chakra is removed from her body(GM). But she is still alive inside Gedo Mazo but couldnt do anything like escaping CT because she had no chakra(Bijuu).

If Hagoromo not separated her chakra from her body before sealed her inside CT, Kaguya can escape or stayed alive inside CT if she dont want to escape.

Madara is immortal because of Juubi/Kaguya. Removed Juubi from him, he will die. But Juubi/Kaguya is immortal.

In fiction all immortal being can be defeated only by sealing them. Its because they are immortal phsically and spiritually. Getting seal will not kill you but restricted your movement or putting you in the state of comatose.

You are trapped inside unbroken container. In DB, king piccolo get trapped inside sealing pot and he couldnt escape it unless someone open up the sealing pot. But he still alive inside it. Samui get trapped inside Hagoromo's sealing tool but she still alive when Darui open up the sealing tool and samui is not immortal.

The reason Kaguya couldnt escape from CT on her own because her chakra were taken out but she not dead only coma.
