[Discussion] Kaido and Moria

So I've come across some people under the impression these two weren't equal at one point. It was stated straight on panel they were, get over it.

Edit:

Kaido is stronger than Doflamingo. Doflamingo is little above Post TS Luffy. Pre TS Luffy beat Gecko.

According to WG, Gecko is not strong enough even for Shichibukai, which mean he alone doesn't stand a chance against a Yonko.

The only Gecko's chances could be if he in the past was a lot stronger, and for some reason he is weaker now (but I doubt that).

And considering that Kaido is suicidal character, I wouldn't be surprised if he alone fought against whole Gecko's crew and still won. Which make things even worse for Moriah.

There was indeed a panel for that, but I wouldn't read much into it. From what we've seen from Moria, that statement seems kinda iffy.

It was stated that Moria's crew VS. Kaido were equal. Not to mention we don't know when their fight took place. We do know the Moria that fought the Strawhats was much weaker however. How much? Don't know.

There was no mention of Moria's crew in that particular statement. It just said "Moria, a pirate who once matched one of the four emperors, Kaido"

pretty sure it was stated/implied he was weaker due to using zombies to do all his dirty work.

Doffy is probably twice as strong as Luffy bruh no debate

Not in the statement you are referring to yes. In an earlier chapter it is implied though.

Moria lost his entire crew to Kaido. That was the whole reason he decided to create a zombie army. He can't lose what is already dead. How do you think that happened? Did Moria just sit around and watch his crew fight, then when they were all killed he decided to fight? That would be stupid. More than likely he fought Kaido with his crew.
Moria's crew + moria < kaido.

Also, the line you are referring to was in Ch 483, and it was just a random person saying the line. Stories do get exaggerated.

Yes, because Oda likes to waste time having scrubs give false information on key players in the story for no reason. If what you're saying is truly the case than there was no need to draw the panel at all. Anyway, that page from the manga still doesn't confirm your Moria plus crew statement so..my/your guess as to what actually went down in their confrontation is as good as anybody's.

lufffy fought aokij and his whole crew survived.moria with or without crew fought kaido and lost all.my point is that just because 2 guys fought dosn't mean they are equal or even close.different outcomes can come under different circumstances but i dont think moria and kaido are even close seeing that he lost to luufy before TS.

The way I see it, Kaido and Moriah were sort of rivals back in the early days but in the end Moriah got #rekt and went nuts. That resulted in him getting lazy and letting himself go, making all these zombies to do things for him. In the end, he just didn't become as strong as he was projected to be due to that event.

This really seems like the only answer. I've considered Moria losing power but to the degree that pre-skip Luffy can beat him. And let's be honest yes Oars was part of Moriah's power like Edo Tensei is part of Oro's power, but without Oz and relying only on his own body and DF power(which does include Asgard as he incorporates his powers into his own body) Moriah was little to middle difficulty for Luffy. The hardest part of that fight was Oars not Moriah, which is why Moriah was pretty much nothing at MF.

Only King Kong Gun damaged Doffy. He got up unfazed after the other attacks, and he clearly could have beat Luffy one on one. I like Luffy enough to appreciate he is not done growing
