According to the spoilers Sasuke was unimpressed by the size of the rasengan and tells him to come back once it's bigger. And then Boruto throws it against a tree and Sasuke is impressed by it's disappearing ability. I can't remember what Sarada does here but I think she encourages Sasuke to take it easy on Boruto.

Sasuke told him he will teach Boruto on the condition he learns the rasengan, when Boruto eventually did master it was too small to impress Sasuke, Sarada tells him to go easy on him since he can throw it and it can disappear

Which accurately describes Sasuke's character as Kishi writes, in conjunction to Itachi. Nothing Sasuke does in the entire series and even in Gaiden, doesn't have Itachi's name or fingerprints on it somewhere. It's like Kishi can't give Sasuke motivation without bringing up his brother.
