Not fight, but torture perhaps. He was captured numerous times and thousands of torturing methods were applied on him, wouldn't be surprised if Akainu tortured him himself. Although his scar is to his far right of his stomach, which seems to be a weird place to aim for someone you're trying to kill (stomach is nowhere near as critical as the chest or even head), so fighting him may of been plausible too. Who knows.

in terms of torture magellan poison would hv been more suited as torture methods usualy arent guarenteed to kill u. Magellan poison had an andidote also

So just because he got the title of the strongest pirate the FA of marines cant even land a hit on him and Kaido could probably just go ham and solo the MHQ, right? That's beyond stupid.

Probably came from a joint force consisting of Akainu and others. Can't see Akainu giving Kaido a scar in 1 on 1 combat without taking some injuries himself.
