Meh, agree to disagree then.
Every arc has just been good so far with a couple of great moments and amazing transitions but overall the timeskip has been disappointing and after dragging us through Dressrosa they're going to say they're 70% done just like that? How do they have the nerve to say that after what they've been producing? I'm only going to be satisfied if the rest of the story is Marineford/Ennies Lobby/Water 7/Sabaody/Alabasta level good. I wouldn't mind if Oda took a 6 month hiatus just so he can get his shit together and come back with great content. I checked One piece wikia and saw everything pretimeskip were in 60 volumes. We're now at volume 78. The timeskip was the halfway mark so we can assume there will be 120 volumes by the end of it. For that reason we're currently 65% through the story.

OK math time.

If it took 6584 days for the manga to reach 70% , it would take around 2822 days for it to complete the rest 30% .

2822 days = 7 years 8/9 months approx.

So we still have about 7 years of stuff left from One Piece.

When did Oda said they had like 10 years left?

I don't get why people are going crazy over an editor saying OP is about 70% done and only focus on chapter numbers. He could mean the story is 70% done and it could take another 600 chapters to finish for all we know.

I think he said it somewhere around the time skip. Its been 3 years since the time skip.

Timeskip started in 2010.

Then this adds up perfectly

Oh Damn that was cool while it lasted xD

That's why I think people are trying too hard to calculate the number of years and chapters OP has left. The editor was probably talking about the story. It took 597 chapters/14 years of the OP STORY to be half way done and we are already 70% done with just 3 arcs and the last took 100 chapters in itself. In TS, we got Joyboy, Noah, Fishman Island history, Poseidon, the Underground, the National Treasure, CP0 and more. That's ALOT of story elements. I don't think chapter numbers have anything to do with it. It could take 150 chapters to advance the story by 8%

It was his assistant who said that they are 70% done though a lot of stuff is left to be explained.
I am expecting it to go on for at least 7-8 years since a lot of stuff is yet to be revealed. Oda might take 10 more years though.

No one can ever predict the exact year OP will end lol. It's useless, Oda takes hiatuses due to his health and from over-working. It's very possible for the hiatuses to be more frequent later on as well. If Oda said 10 years of OP, it's more like 12 years. I just hope that his health doesn't deteriorate that much.
