Jay-Z is a biter and Reasonable Doubt is overrated tripe.

That's almost like saying "Thriller" is overrated. Or, Bulls-Jordan is overrated. Just because you've experienced and liked stuff since that you genuinely think is better, does not trump the art and legitimacy of that record and it's influence on music indefinitely. I don't care who's flavor of the month, they are gonna have work hard and do something mighty impressive to make the same waves HOV did.
Blueprint.. black Album.. etc. he's got some pretty solid classics under his belt.

Except Thriller isn't overrated. It's pop music that is well written and surprisingly cohesive. There's a reason Michael Jackson became king of pop.

Jay-Z on the other hand has based his career off biting far superior emcees.

Blueprint and Black Album aren't classics. They're just records that had mainstream appeal, which a lot of albums tagged as "classics" have any ways.
