The popular news is that Sasuke used a technique that he got from Kaguya's castle.
This actually matched with the fact that the villains wanted to know what Sasuke got from her castle.
I don't know if it's true or not.

It must have been, but those who saw don't want to ruin the fun. They are just keeping it concealed, the important scenes. Those things which don't matter to the core plot are being revealed.

They shouldn't be surprised about the lack of SS since the movie is about Boruto.

Guess so. Even the one for Hokage is the same candidate (corresponding). But Boruto is too strong compared to what Jiraiya was at this age. The only chance for Mitsuki to compete is to have more of Orochimaru's powers than the corresponding age. Sarada is good going though.

About the condition that Sasuke gave Boruto in order to become his apprentice--->seems to be that he has to be able to do the Rasengan. A few bloggers have mentioned that there is a scene of Konohamaru teaching it to Boruto. Their interaction is cute. /u/OrganicDinosaur
