I mean that kind of defeats the purpose of the concept. It's more advertising than actually expressing anything.

Posting a link doesn't really express how to feel or what you're thinking or doing. It's being the middle man to promote someone else actually expressing themselves.

You can have a youtube vid for example in your sig ( in a spoiler tag). This is up to the admins, but I personally don't see the point in this.

But then aren't there threads about what you are doing at the moment or listening to?

Actually now that I remember, back then before the change to the forums, there was a thing you could add to your profile on the side that let others see what was you favorite youtube video. It was nice to change once in a while and to check other profiles to see what other people were listening to. I would rather want that than the status thing.
