The moment Borutos punch stopped he must have got caught in the shadow..but if it did get in contact it would have been fatal for shikada..maybe to his brain since the brain is very near

but I do not think its the best; for me it's Frog Kata. Frog Kata is a style that has a 1 hit ok feat and it doesn't require you to make physical contact to do damage. As for Gentle fist, it can be stopped by evading or knocking the Hyuuga's thrusting hand since they release their chakra from their palms. Rotation is a ninjutsu that is used with taijutsu such as A's lightning armor. Hinata's lion palm is an advance version of gentle fist so it's taijutsu. You can't block Frog Kata as we seen with Pretha Pein, the natural energy around the body extends and hits the target and it can't be seen by the majority of ninjas.

The only gentle fist that does that is 8 triagram palm. When has Boruto shown that? and even if that is so all u need to do is deflect the arm.
