She could land at least one effective strike on Pain for some damage unlike Hinata who did absolutely no damage. Plus, her regeneration comes into action when smashed on the ground.

Sorry, but this isn't a comparison of feats. It's what Sakura could've done under similar circumstances as Hinata. Pain was busy with hand to hand combat. Landing a power punch as a surprise attack wouldn't be difficult.

Pein who out hand to hand combated kakashi and jiraya, and has the rinnegan would definitely not fall for a surprise attack from sakura who at the time showed no considerable speed feats or anything to confirm she was good at surprise attacks in the first place . Both Hiashi, and his Hyuuga clan guards were defeated by Toneri's puppets. Looking back Hinata took care of them, with one misstep of being striked in the head, but she made a full recovery and finished them off. There must of been at least 6+

I was referring to that specific occasion. But nevertheless, Hinata has improved now, but still doesn't compare to Sakura in combat.

Sakura will punch the ground and disbalance Hinata, then Shannaroo.
