I don't think we will know the outcome of the Boruto vs Shikadai fight. I believe in one of the movie summaries released it was stated that their fight gets interrupted by the villains.

I don't know where you get that he gets caught in the shadow. The trailer shows just a few seconds of their fight. There is no way to know who has the upper hand at this point. Not that it matters since they get attacked. :lol

Seems like nobody watched the leaks of the movie? We can see the result of that battle after the palm attack in the trailer. While the whole fight has not be shown in the leaks the end result was very clear, Shikadai has beat Boruto. He captured him in a massive shadow possesion jutsu and Boruto couldnt move an inch and he was out of chakra too i think. Lee who was the judge of the match began to raise his hand for victory for Shikadai but then Boruto cheated and used those forbiden scrolls which creates jutsu without the need of chakra and created Kage Bunshin. Shikadai knowing he cant beat that raised his hands and surrendered and Boruto was declared as victor. But Naruto notices somethings wrong and asked Hinata to do a Byakugan sweep and they discovered the arms wristle with the scrolls, Naruto jumped down and disqualified Boruto for cheating making Shikadai again the winner.

Long story short Shikadai was the clear winner of this fight.

She shouldve been able to release the hold by channeling his gentle fist through his feet, but he isn't that smart or her doesn't have the chakra control. Kakashi said that was the hardest place to control your chakra.
