Who is the most intelligent/knowledgeable character?

It's obviously Orochimaru. He is both knowledgeable and intelligent at the same time. Let's take a look at his feats.​

• Praised as a genious who appears once a few generations.
• Created tons of techniques (according to Databooks, creating techniques is his hobby).
• Achieved immortality.
• The greatest scientist of the series.
• Created his own dimension.
• Came up with a hypothesis on the Uchiha tablet despite not having Sharingan.
• Created perfect clones.
• Probably the most knowledgeable character of the series.
• Ran several hideouts with prisoners without getting caught, despite being number 1 in the Bingo Book.
• Managed to learn all 7 Nature Releases.
• Successfully disguised himself as Kazekage, fooling everyone during Chuunin exams.

What is your opinion? Do you think anyone could top Orochimaru in terms of intelligence and being smart?​

Intelligent and knowledgeable are two different things. Intelligent is someone who processes information effectively and can solve different problems. Knowledgeable just means that person has a lot of info on a certain topic or topics. IMO orochimaru fits the knowledgeable criteria because of how he is the most knowledgeable person when it comes to different jutsus. Intelligence is something I would describe shikamaru or tobimara cuz they can analyze situations and create solutions in battle.

Taking off god tiers with no exact feats but obviously very knlowledgable (like Kaguya, Hagoromo and Black Zetsu) I would put between four characters:

Hiruzen
Tobirama
Orochimaru
Kabuto

Not necessarily on this order.

He's smart but he lacks common sense at times when it comes to getting things he wants.


Case in point, him trying to steal Itachi and Sasuke's bodies.

You mean their fight? If yes, then Orochimaru said himself he knew it was all gonna come down to Sasuke betraying him.

Obviously I'm not counting characters who lived for like a thousand years, because they cannot be compared to normal characters, especially in terms of knowledge.
