Was Hagoromo a Juubi Jin or not?

By this translated scan of db 4 it seems he was not but I think he had just kept the Juubi chakra and sealed the Juubi Body the Gedo Mazo to the moon?! The translation even says (at his death) that his power was released as it was changed into the nine bodies of the bijuu...

Yes, he sealed it within himself.

Then he split it into the nine Bijū and sealed the Gedō Statue in the moon created by himself and Hamura. That translation feels somewhat askew, especially with those stray ys.

It was probably either a printing error or this "OrganicDinosaur" thought they'd be doing everyone a favour if they dumbed Gedō down to Jūbi. If it's the latter, quite frankly, it's insulting.

The thing is the Databook contradicts the Manga in this aspect.

According to the Manga from Kurama, Madara, Obito and Hagoromo himself, him and his bro beat the Juubi then Hagoromo sealed it inside himself and later down the line he separated the Juubi chakra into Nine and sealed away the Gedo Mazo with Chibaku Tensei thus creating the Moon.

According to the Last and Databook, Hagoromo and Hamura sealed away the Gedo Mazo during there fight with the Juubi together and Hagoromo just took the Chakra of the Juubi.

You can either choose to believe the Databook/The Last or believe the Manga.

Yeah I agree. But even by manga standarts its a bit confusing... The confusing part is according to Kaguya flashback her Juubi self was sealed by Six Paths Chibaku Tensei... But Hago did become its Jin then or he sealed later to the moon? Because the seals create the moon...

Ive always thought that he sealed the juuni chakra within himself and chubaku tenseied the now empty 10 tails body called gedo statue and sent to the moon. He then split the 10 tails chakra into 9 entities when he was dying while hamura guarded its body in the moon making a failsafe to crash the moon in the earth if it was revived

Its kinda confusing. In the manga kurama said that the sage was able to stay alive after separating the j uubi chakra because of the gedo mazo. But the seal seperates the chakra from the gedo mazo, and sends it to the moon. So that story kinda makes no sense as the used the seals on kaguya/juubi during the original battle. So the manga kinda contridicts itself a little with that.

Exactly and that is more then enough reason to say he was Juubi Jinchurki at one point in the time
