The sand and the doton armors gave only a great defence(correct me if I'm wrong, I don't know if Kakuzu strength came from his armor or not))
we know doton<raiton, so they are weak against raiton attack

the lighning armor, no only got great defence, it gave good offencive attack, insane speed & reflex

Lightning armor was cool but Gaara & lee were my favorites so I choose sand

Probably, YCM is made of doton and katon maybe the hyoton will negate the heat and the fire properties of the lava release.

The lightning armor doesn't boost defense, you used the Raikage that had a durable body as an example, and he was also an Edo summon, so that's no good either.

Gaara's armor can be taken out by lightning or even water, soaking the sand up and making it heavy.

The Lava armor, anything that doesn't involve you physically touching it. Lightning could pierce through it, earth release could physically deal blunt damage to the user.

Earth Armor - As you said weak to lightning, as for the strength its a mix of both the power from the armor activation as well as Kakuzu's inhumane strength.

Sasuke's Kusanagi couln't pierce the lightning armor of Ai(that's a good defence)
and Temari's wind attack didn't do anything to the 3rd Raikage, I don't think his body has something to do with it (maybe against the rasenshuriken)

That's pretty good defence and CQC's user has to fear that.
Lightning may be able to pierce it most likely an s-rank jutsu, but if it is raikiri or chidori the user may loose his hand in the process

I'd actually like to see new element armors, wind armor would be interesting blowing all attacks away from the opponents or water armor absorbing the blows reducing the damage significantly.
