But that was meant within the realms of the five basic natures + Yin, Yang and Yin-Yang Release.

Not sure. Could be that he already possessed Ranton from birth, or that having the power of Kaguya/Shinju; the originator of all chakra, grants you access to all elemental transformations.

It's just another theory; albeit the weakest since it fails to account for the fact that to use Kekkei Genkai, you need the actual gene. Senjutsu strengthens your existing abilities, not give you new power. And the only other way to get your hands on advanced elemental chakra is to take it pre-moulded from another source, like Naruto did with the Bijuu.

But with Naruto having Rikudō Senjutsu himself, he wouldn't have needed to ask Son Goku for Yōton chakra if advanced elements were within reach of the aforementioned. And lets not forget that Rikudō Sage Mode as a whole gives full understanding of the universe and insight into the nature of existence so he'd know and be able to perform, even if he couldn't explain it - like with Kakashi's eye.
