[DEBATE] Healthy Itachi(TRE MERCER) vs Might Gai(Ezequielosses)

You would have done much better taking into account the steps and hoops guy has to jump through just to get around ama, with this in mind the threat of amaterasu would have been more effective than amaterasu itself.
Take heed to what kakashi had his teammates do. Not out of fear but out of that fact that they have little to no other option:
Ezequielosses' counters to the technique was far fetched to say the least but you missed the opportunity to use it to your advantage for simpler setups that don't involve the very thing he's trying to counter. For example: being on the lookout for blood means guy has to keep itachi in Line Of Sight(which leads to crow/shadow/explosive clones), something itachi can break easily, and to make matters worse he can use blood from anything(since guy isn't looking at his eyes but the blood on the floor) to instantly trick guy and force him to pull his trump cards just to dodge, something that may or may not happen.
Since this is "fanfic" itachi you jumped his chakra levels beyond belief, almost to edo itachi wank. When the fact of the matter is itachi showed 0 signs of sickness in part 1 and was still panting and sweating after a ama or tsukuyomi.

You addressed only what needed to be addressed.
Con: your counters to ama is limited and situational at best, but given guy's moveset you worked with what you got.
If your opponent isn't gonna use all the tools given to him there's no need to address it for him.
Reacting to blood on the floor from ama? Cmon bro. There's so many ways that can go wrong. And using the seventh gate to push it off is only going to work once.

Those are the only possible ways to counter Amaterasu for someone like Gai. I couldn't come up with anything better. Just one thing:
@bold: I think Gai can handle keeping Itachi on his LOS without getting clone feinted or etc.. I already adressed Gai was probably fighting Obito without looking at his eyes too and he still managed pretty well, Itachi doesn't get a huge advantage in that part.
@bold 2: He only needs it once, because when the 7th gate is opened he just dodges Amaterasu easely, no need to keep pushing it out of his body. Plus once he opens 7th gate he goes to a CQC hirudora and the battle ends

Guy's main concentration is itachi's feet. Even sharingan users cant see itach weaving seals. So to say guy isn't getting feinted when he isn't even looking at itachi's hands bs. His fight with obito isn't a reflection of that since obito isn't even a clone user and has no reputable seal speed feats to go round.
I already gave you props(kinda) for working with wat u got. It doesn't change it from being situational.
Guy pulling out seventh gate isn't a insta win since susanno turtles him. And depending on situation he might even attack the wrong itachi and have a clone blow up in his face.
But hey. A win is a win.
