If it's EMS Madara then I can completely see that, and I'm certain that a healthy MS Itachi would fair well against Sm Hashirama more than EMS Madara can.

The only thing EMS Madara has is perfect Susanoo, which greatly triumph against all others excluding Gedo Susanoo.
Itachi has final Susanoo, spiritual weapons, and Amatersu. If you're not one side thinking and say "PS mountain shock swing GG," then you would be able to see the logical picture.
