Anyone else wonder why Hinata never asks her husband to spend more time with his son and daughter? She probably knows that Boruto wishes he was around more often. This will probably be addressed in the film, but I just don't understand why she hasn't at least tried

Hinata and Himawari both understand that Naruto has an important job and doesn't have all the time in the world.

Bolt only cares about playing with his dad and doesn't understand what Hokage means in general or to his father.

Because she is not outspoken enough. She doesn't have that voice and she might be a little shy as well.
I doubt after being married after 10 years she would still be shy around Naruto, maybe a little but not where he stops her from speaking out. She probably does, but Naruto can only show Bolt so much attention seeing as how he is the Hokage. It's still doesn't make a lot of since, he could just use shadow clone jutsu. I know he did this before and bolt complained about him being a shadow clone. Why not just just leave a shadow clone in the office and have the real Naruto spend time with bolt? Kishmito and his ****in writing doesn't make sense sometimes.

Probably because Naruto have spent a lot of time with his family before becoming Hokage, which he did in ch. 700, and Bolt can't handle Naruto spending less time with him now. Naruto still plays with Bolt while he's working via clone so it's not like Naruto ignores Bolt. Bolt was late meeting Naruto at the village gate to give him his lunch so Naruto left, that's Bolt's fault not Naruto's. Bolt could have went to meet Naruto as Sarada did if he wanted to be with his dad.

We all know how Hinata is like, if Naruto is happy, she's happy, her kids come second to him. She also knows Naruto isn't just her husband, he's the lord hokage, so the fodder should know not to speak out of line or at all when not spoken too. She should just stick to making Naruto Bento and Boruto should just stick to delivering them.

For the movie character description it states that she underdtands both their issues well. She knows Naruto has to be busy and knows that Bolt misses his dad.

So What's to say she doesn't encourage them to get along? Naruto is the Hokage and bolt can't seem to handle that truth. Himawari can. Bolt will get over his daddy complex soon enough

Hinata is mostly likely the passive type parent.
Her getting involved to the extent of telling Naruto face to face, that his Hokage position is jeopardizing his relationship with Boruto, is unlikely lol...

Conversation is not a part of their relationship. She cannot bring herself to oppose Naruto in any way, not even his off spring. She let boruto knock a cake down n didn't do a darn thing XD

Because she understands how important the Hokage is, and how much work they have to put in it... And the Gaiden makes it seem like he honestly does try to spend time with Bolt, whenever he gets the chance...
