I disagree. I don't think the name night Guy was based on Guy's nickname as Konoha's green beast (or anything animal related for that matter).

It was most likely night Guy because Guy was going to die after that (had it not been for Naruto of course). In other words, it was like saying good night to Guy since he was going to his eternal rest. Night symbolized the end of Guy's life and Guy just symbolized Guy.
