The source I read said "that enormous power has joined blackbeard" to be exact. So I would say yeah, it's pretty much confirmed. I always believed kuzan to be stronger then teach though..

People may disagree with me but I honestly believe that Aokiji is Carrying the BB pirates right now. I feel he's stronger than current black beard himself. Imo Blackbeard is the weakest yonkou currently but he will be the only yonkou to grow in strength with luffy until the end of the series. we've seen blackbeard run from Akainu, someone is barely able to beat Aokiji while suffering major injuries. This will obviously change, BB is the most power hungry person we've probably seen yet and will continue to gain power and fame.

2- Unless BB has honed his abilities with the two DFs and practiced some basic Haki, he himself gets defeated by Kuzan any time...

For now, Teach poses a threat to the world. It's not clear how World Government is dealing with Teach. Kuzan is nothing more than a drifter, but you know he still works his own justice. It's been said Kuzan is connected with Blackbeard-Pirates, and Teach likes to have strong individuals in his crew. Whatever the nature of work between Kuzan and Teach, there is no doubt that Kuzan joining forces with Blackbeard-Pirates. However, pirates aren't trusted, and neither ex-marine officer.

Both of the DF are counters to each other. They literally even in power according to their portrayal in the manga on that island.

The disadvantage only exists when you apply Real life stuff into it.
