Ah. At least they had more than 1 type. What if they had to fight Deidera or someone long ranged? Still think it makes more sense to have a mix?

Kakashi sama would fight deidera or kage level also kakshi-sama has versatility he knows long range techniques . Mid range ninjas can see hit long range nins there not close up fighters itachi was mid range . it would be Kitsuchi division that would struggle against long range .


also dont know why lee was placed in kakashi-sama and gai-sama division seen as lee is clearly short range and should of went with hinita and neji in that squad

I can't remember the specifics but there's still vulnerability. Did they just get lucky with their match ups vs edo's? Plot I guess.

Hebi Sasuke (mid range) vs Deidara , remember he didnt have to get close to deidara to hit him , he had to just get close enough for his justu to reach.

Also mid range can still hit without being close up or they can try to get close and do taijustu which most long ranger fighters like gaara showed their weak at gaara vs lee

dont think kakashi squad would of struggled regardless of match ups because kakashi himself can perform long range and maybe there might of been others with long range justu

Sasuke was lucky. He would've been screwed without the lightening affinity, sharingan and intelligence. Deidera wouldn't let you get close unless he got cocky. Suppose kamui would've killed him for a few seconds if he was miles in the sky but he still would've had to havw been sealed. I'm still goin with them getting lucky with their edo counter parts though :L

As I said I can't remember it that well. As a solo god once said "every jutsu has a weakness". There's generally a combat triangle/wheel to these things, like the elements. Strengths & weaknesses etc. I'm not just saying ranges but abilities. Certain divisions mightn't have had to tools for certain match ups. I'd have to crossover every edo with every squad from every division to give you an answer.

At different times too.
