Damn nice parallels though. I think at one point Kishi was trying to force Sasuke to have 2 wives or even more to indicate that he was the boss of women.

She is from the same village, they knew each other since childhood, she was part of team 7 who he considered like family, her love seemed more genuine and less lustful. She actually gave him 2 genuine confessions which he took to heart.
Apart from that she is a lot stronger and better looking.

It's a shame because Karin turned out to be a better woman through not getting with Sasuke. Though her feelings for Sasuke, despite being irrational like the rest of the lot, actually had a meaning behind her twisted and weird Sasuke-fetishes.

Sakura's love for Sasuke is a plain sheet of computer paper.
It really has no dynamics or reasoning for that love, other than what she feels for him, a one sided contribution that had to go somewhere to the finale.
