You are basing this only on the fact that their parents graduated at that age, but now we know Himawari's age and Boruto is not more than 3-4 years older than her. They always looked younger to me anyways, 10 is reasonable.

To me Boruto looks 10 and Himawari 6, all manga and movie evidence supports this. There is no way they are 6 years apart, Himawari was running with Boruto when he was 4-5.

We only know about their parents generation, and there are always exceptions like Itachi and Kakashi who not only become Genin but all the way to Jounin before 12. The theme of "the newer generation surpassing the old" is constantly being enforced and these new kids graduating at a younger age than their parents would be expected.

@Bold: I do know Boruto is 3-4 (at most) years older than Himawari, which would make Boruto 9-10 if she is 6.

He'll be like that until his next growth spurt. Anyway Himawari is probably 2 in the Last, 2 year olds can run/walk. Boruto is probably 5-7.

Anyway it doesn't matter, we'll have a Boruto databook/thing like the Last (Remember for Naruto/Sasuke/Sakura/Hinata), and it'll tell us the ages.

Obito when he confronted Minato in the leaf village was no more than 15 yet looked like a grown ass man and Minato thought he was Madara so he probably sounded like an adult too.

I played football in HS with many 15 yr olds who looked and sounded like adults.

They were considered prodigies and advanced faster than everyone else. It was rare for people to leave the academy that young. The rest of Kakashi's age group didn't leave the academy until way after. Then we have Rock Lee, Neji and Tenten who also graduated at 12 as they were 13 when they entered the Chunin exams and one class ahead of Team 7 and the rest, who were also all 12 when they graduated..

The number of candles don't actually determine one's age. It is true that for little kids parents do sometimes get the number of candles that correspond with the kid's age, but that is not always the case. She might have just put enough candles for the cake to look nice or just put some random number of candles. Also, if Himawari is actually older than we think, then too many candles could be a fire hazard. Therefore I wouldn't judge her age by the number of candles on the cake.

So upon close up of Himawari`s birthday cake she had six candles, meaning that she turns six in the movie Does anyone else think that`s extremely off? Especially when you consider that she is nearly as tall as her brother who should be around 12?

You never know...It could be a flashback showing the last straw before Boruto started to resent the Hokage tittle.
