why do people say DSM kabuto?

For one, the sage mode was taught by a snake so its snake sage mode before its dragon sage mode.

Two, kabuto said he was a dragon, not the sage mode, and he obviously wasn't a dragon.

Three, people don't say TSM Naruto. Lol

Four, natural energy is the same all around, one sage mode doesn't give you different powers than another. They're just taught from different places so look different.

All sage modes make Ninjustu, taijustu and genjustu stronger but they dont all give the same powers. Thats really just senjustu.

TSM gives you super strenght. DSM allows you snake eyes which prevent visual genjustu.

But you are right Kabuto called himself a dragon. Dragon sage mode was never really given its name in the manga.

It's true, they don't give different powers. Kabuto's unique abilities came mostly from the DNA he'd infused himself with; his Sage Mode did what Sage Mode always does: enhance sensory skills/reflexes, empower strength/seed/stamina, and improve his chakra reserves with Sage Chakra.

Kabuto's Snake Eyes are probably something he could achieve independently from Sage Mode; at the very least, the "Sage Transformation" (similar to Juugo) is different than true Sage Mode.

Dragon sage mode does not exist, and if anything call it snake sage mode.

We say Dragon Sage Mode (DSM) or as I've seen just about because it either
A. Sounds cool
B. He's the only shown Perfect Sage from Ryuchidou

Technically he should just be written as SM Kabuto
