so i have not been involved with the base as much as before so i did not realize that this rumor has been going around.
so apparently, the rumor is going around that kishi is retiring???
well the thing is, this is a misunderstanding or someone has mistranslated.

according to the last sentence of the yellow bold on the left,
this is what kishi says:
"最高に一言… これ以上のものはもう僕には描けません…"。

it translates into:
"one last word...i cannot draw anything further than this"

Note that this is the same sentence that kishi uses everywhere for Boruto promos: website, trailer, interview, magazine...
so this sentence is nothing new to us (unless you've not been caught up with any boruto news lately). whoever translated that he is "retiring" translated it wrong.

now looking back at the translation, it may literally sound to you guys that he doesnt wanna draw further than this when being translated into english. but because of how the english translation came out, english readers could take it the wrong way.

this is actually one of a japanese expression whenever you want to express the "highlight" of what you do in your life, your accomplishments, your hobbies, etc. What kishi meant when he said this is that he wanted to express that this Boruto movie is THE highlight of all his work. this is the sentence that most mangakas use to express his/her feelings about their work.

therefore.....kishi is NOT retiring!
if kishi really was retiring, it would be ALLLL over the news in japan since he's a well-known mangaka. even my parents haven't heard anything about his retirement as well as me, which explains why i haven't heard about this rumor until now.

hope this clarified everything.

Thanks for clarifying. I hope Kishi works on a seinen manga, it seems Shonen is pulling back his pontential as a mangaka.

I'm assuming Kishimoto is a big manga author in Japan.

Manga and anime is their culture, like comics/cartoons for America.

So I can only assume that most parents would know of him, I mean Naruto is a world renown icon. Everyone has heard of the blonde hair, blue eyed boy wearing an orange jump suit XD

I was literally about to type the same thing... He is a deep guy and shonen limits him greatly... I think he would really shine with a seinen manga where he can go deeper and darker. He has shown that he has it in him.

I also think he has introduced a lot of high level and also subtle thematics and philosophies in the series that seem to fly over the head of many in the fanbase probably because they are so young.

He said he won't draw anything Naruto-related anymore, doesn't mean he's retiring as a Mangaka
