Otsutsuki Toneri and the Tenseigan eyes

What I found weird about the movie is the Tenseigan eyes.
Not that they exist, but how they were unlocked.
The Tenseigan can lose its power and revert back to Byakugan btw (as happened with Toneri), so gaining the eyes does not have to be permanent.

Hamura gained them at a certain time during his life (in his own eyes and not implants I guess).
Before his death he sealed his tenseigan eyes in an artifact called the Tenseigan (shares a name with the eyes).

Some time after Hamura's death, Otsutsuki on the moon started to sealed away their Byakugan eyes at a young age into a Tenseigan artifact as well, which has been used as a weapon in a civil war among the main and branche families of the Otsutsuki.

Getting the Tenseigan in your eyes is a rare occurance right?

Toneri just implants a Byakugan from Hyuuga Hanabi and they turn into Tenseigan within a day or so?
Isnt that odd. Its suppose to be rare right? Yet he gains them really fast. Why?

If Otsutsuki didnt seal away their eyes, than many would be able to get the Tenseigan eyes too from their own eyes that they were born with, like Hamura?

SP and their filler logic, what do you expect? This is the same movie where Naruto used Kage Bunshin when he was extremely young, right? Yeah, I wouldn't take this "canon movie" seriously at all.

The reason he needed hanabi was cause she's from the main branch. He used her eyes to harness the powers sealed by others in the tenseigan

Not too sure on this since the movie is slightly vague on it, but I thought the tensigon needed a main hyuga eyes and the okatsuki body to awaken.

Wasn't this already explained in the movie.....????? Just like combining indra and ashura's chakra grants the rinnegan, combining the main branch members byakugan to a main branch member of the otsutsuki's eyes would unveil the tenseigan. And no the eyes don't seem permanent, as after toneri was beaten by naruto's KCM punch they disappeared implying they require a certain amount of chakra to maintain also toneri wasn't used to the eyes completely yet I believe. And hamura is the ancestor of the hyuga and he's an otsutsuki so it was only natural in his case.

So it became Tenseigan eyes, because he harnessed the eye powers, sealed by others in the Tenseigan artifact? That could make sense.

Toneri is a branch member and Hanabi a main house member. They are not both branch,
and as mentioned Otsutsuki can be born with the Byakugan too.

Its probably as Tonybeeth says. You need to harness the powers of the Tenseigan artifact, into a Byakugan to unlock Tenseigan fast.

The other option being, doing it how Hamura did it.

Hamura isn't the guidelines for everyone else, same goes for hago and we saw what and how hard it took BZ to get someone with the rinnegan.

Secondly, believe tonari needed a main hyuga because he did defeat a hyuga patrol with hiashi fleeing yet their byakugan were not taken. So all these hyuga didn't give him what he needed/wanted

Seeing how Otsutsuki can be born with a Byakugan as well.
