The question is why wouldn't they. Kabuto already said being in that big Susanoo makes them slower, fact, so why not make it their body size to move faster and still keep the defense it provides?

well if you noticed in the trailer Sasuke only used it to replace his missing arm. he just used it to replace a limb. in his fight with Danzo he at one point did just make the Susano'o aura fit his body though but that's it
