Is limbo a sharingan technique, a rinnegan technique or just one of madara's unique techniques? I don't remember if kishi ever elaborated or not

Its possible for Rinnegan users to have completely unique abilities like with the sharingan. For example Sasuke's Rinneshift and Madara's Limbo, Sasuke can't use Limbo and Madara can't use Rinneshift.

MS techniques aren't new, otherwise Kaguya wouldn't know what Amaterasu is, so Hagoromo had to have it before everyone else and most likely every other MS/Rinnegan techniques.

Kaguya could know what Amaterasu is because of two things:

1. Sasuke said the techniques name before
2. Black Zetsu's knowledge passed on to her

The first doesn't have to have happened while in the battle with her. She was conscious while Obito and Madara were the hosts of the ten-tails.
