So are you implying no one who has been shown breaking Genjutsu on their own can break a Genjutsu? We not just talking about feats but what the characters should be capable of. Would you say the same thing about Madara or Sasuke? Let's say they turned off their Sharingan, will they be solo'd by a Genjutsu?

Anyway, to answer your question, Shikamaru broke himself out of Tayuyas Genjutsu by using Shadow Possession to break his own thumb. People can still mold chakra and use jutsu in a Genjutsu so Sandaime should be able to form a Nukite and poke himself to escape.

You would usually be right, but when talking about shinobi with the genjutsu capability of this three, its not far-fatched to make the claim that the Third won't be able to break it, since it was never hinted that he posessed means to break it and the closest thing akin to him on the mangá (his Son) was completelly helpless after getting caught by it.

You're saying the exact thing Nike Air is saying and I don't know how you guys believe such a thing. You both seem to believe if a character has no feats of breaking Genjutsu then they can't. Its foolish to think top tiers are helpless and would get KO that easily all because they lack feats.

EDIT: both of the raikages are supposed to have Bijuu lvl chakra reserves. And jiraiya stated that using huge chakra releases can bring down genjutsu. Naruto failed to do so because without Kurama he doesn't have that much chakra. So i think the sandaime could escape genjutsu using that (just an assumption). Since we don't have any feats of the sandaime breaking from genjutsu that' the only logicall explanation for him to be alive, since if we go by just feats part 1 sakura could use genjutsu and sandaime can't counter, and that's ridiculouss.

Ay is simply not gonna be caught in genjutsu, not even MS could track him, let alone putting him under genjutsu (madara used multiple clones and tsunade distracted him).

In battle forums, se use two things to define if a character can withstand an attack: feats and portrayal. And Third Raikage's have neither in terms of resisting genjutsu.
And about your final paragraph, the Fourth Raikage got KO'd by a simples genjutsu by Madara and needed Oonoki to sabe him. Deidara got KO'd by Itachi's genjutsu. Naruto got KO'd (twice) by Itachi's genjutsu. Orochimaru, who have genjutsu feats, a 5 in genjutsu on the databook and an overall fortitude of his character got defeated by a genjutsu. All of these examples were with three tomoe genjutsu, btw. Not Tsukuyomi. Só yeah, unless the Third had shown in his character or by "hype" to resist this level of genjutsu, he certainly can't.

I agree with you about the Fourth. Too fast to react in terms of genjutsu. About the Third I see three top tiers in terms of speed and reflexes reacting to him seeing as SM Naruto managed to do with precision. And chakra levels aren't everything, seeing as bijuus get caught in genjutsu all the time, Naruto got caught by Itachi's genjutsu twice and Kisame got caught by Kurenai's genjutsu. All of them had monstruous chakra.

And still SM Naruto reacted to him just fine. With Kakashi's, Hebi Sasuke's and Itachi's speed feats plus sharingan precog they certainly won't be dancing circles around the Raikage, but they can atleast react to him long enough for a genjutsu to land.
Again, I'm not saying that because he has zero feats in genjutsu that he would be soloed by any form of genjutsu. Sharingan genjutsu, specially Itachi's sharingan genjutsu was shown to defeat top tiers before. So being defeated by said genjutsus won't make him "weak".
Another thing: It was never stated that the level of the eye itself that made a genjutsu stronger, unless that the jutsu changed (examples: Tsukuyomi for Itachi's MS, Rinnegan genjutsus for Sasuke's). So unless proven otherwise these were all sharingan genjutsu.

Whitout Sharingan by a genjutsu master like Itachi? Definitly! If the genjutsu managed to land (witch probably couldn't due to their overwhelming speed but is doable with the Third) and whitout Sharingan they would probably be caught. But since they have Sharingan, that posess the hype to be resistant against visual genjutsu, they probably would not.

We still have to take into consideration how these users are perceptive and are capable of executing a genjutsu without anyone even perceiving it, most notably Danzo who has a Sharingan of his own, so even if the 3rd Raikage can break free, it's more of a matter of perceiving when a genjutsu has been placed on them as implied during Sasuke's fight with Deidara.
