Gai can blitz and prevent Nagato from summoning, Nagato isn't fast enough to keep up with him and Gai could probably ends it right there with a technique, Nagato has good reflexes but he cannot keep up with this speed and power, with Hachibi waiting at the corner to finish him off if he manage to defeat Gai, he cannot win.
