My inspiration:


The great anthem

A demon broke free from my heart
he licked the honey of shreds it torn apart.
The melodies he sang aroused my soul
a fire in my eyes gained a glow.

Surrender, a temptation so sweet.
Primal instincts, please, take the lead!

“Eve died like a sinful *****
But you’re her legend, carry on!
Forsake the morals old men forced on you.
The joy is hidden in my magic flute.”

His whispers slowly grew strong
the control of my body was torn.
A living puppet I willingly became
allowed to feast the great decay.

He placed his cold hand on my soul
memories flew violently from my throne.
A new master arrived at golden home
and me, a minstrel of the dark he now owns.

I liked how you included the instinct parts, and how your body became a mere puppet, which was controlled by those sinful desires. I like dark things, and I liked this one especially.

Thanks man I really appreciate it, indeed it might be the darkest poem I've ever written. Funny thing is that the song that inspired me, though a bit dark, it's nowhere close as the dark theme fo this poem, what inspired the most was the first minute of the song, the whole beginning being silent and slow having a feeling of danger in it and then when unexpectedly that dark feeling manifests in her heavy metal voice!

It was dark, it was powerful, became more sombre and then that excellent end. Wonderful dude. Superb poem .
