Team 7 is perfectly fair. The problem is that the other teams just don't seem to want to go outside of their clans' jutsus.
Just look at Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura for a second:
Naruto: Yes he is an Uzumaki/jinchuuriki realm of his clan/beast such as wind style (and other elements later), summoning jutsu, senjutsu, rasengan+variants, shadow clone jutsu, etc... All of the jutsus that I just listed above are things that don't pertain to a clan or kekkei genkai, and a non-jinchuuriki can do them. Naruto clearly went outside of his clan.
Sasuke: In addition to Uchiha stuff like fire style and doujutsus, he also learned stuff like chidori + many variants, got two summons, kenjutsu, etc... Once again, Sasuke went outside of his clan.
Sakura: She doesn't really have a clan, but her arsenal still consists of stuff that a non- jinchuuriki and non-clan member can do. She can do byakugou seal, medical ninjutsu, chakara scalpel, summoning jutsu, etc...
As you can see, team 7 has actually been smart and done something that wasn't just following tradition. Now look at everyone else:
Shino: All we have ever seen him use is bug related stuff. Any chakara nature? No! Any summons? No! Any other cool chakara control based jutsus, or space-time jutsus, or genjutsus, or anything of the sort? No!
Kiba: We've really just seen him use dog related jutsus. He used one shadow clone and even that was still for something Inuzuka related. I can give the same speech as I did for Shino. Any natures? No! Any summons? No! Any other cool jutsus? No!
Hinata/Neji: Solely stuck to Hyuuga techniques. Sure they got a little creative with it such as Hinata using twin lion fists or Neji deriving rotation on his own, but they have still not branched out to any other forms of ninjutsu, genjutsu, etc...
Lee: Lee kind of has an exception due to not being able to use ninjutsu or genjutsu.
Tenten: Do I really even have to explain this one? She only uses weapons. Enough said.
Shikamaru: Fortuneately he has his intellect, but in terms of jutsus he only has stuck to shadow related techniques. Natures? No! Genjutsu? No! Science based jutsus? No! Space-time jutsu? No! Summons? No!
Chouji: Once again, only Akimichi jutsus.
Ino: Her whole arsenal besides medical ninjutsu is always mind body something!
The only time the Konoha 11 ever really even showed something outside of the realm of their clans was when everybody made those little earth style walls to block the juubi's bijuu bomb and that was most likely one time only!
Therefore, the team 7's are perfectly fair! It is just everyone else's fault for not branching out!
